On the occasion of the first commemoration of Iskandar Adib Safa’s passing, his family, friends, and close colleagues—who now lead the companies he founded—gathered at Notre-Dame du Liban Church in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, in the south of France, a church he had built himself, to honor his memory. They all shared the same sentiment: though Iskandar was no longer physically present, his legacy remained deeply imprinted on the lives of those who knew, loved, and worked alongside him.

During the ceremony, his eldest son, Akram, spoke these words: “A man becomes immortal when his ideas, vision, and wisdom are passed down from generation to generation.” He continued, “Your teachings continue to guide us through life’s challenges, helping us move forward and find peace within ourselves, within our family, and in our work.” He added, “You taught us perseverance, resilience, and adaptability, but also kindness and generosity—not just through words, but through your actions.”

Following the service, the gathering proceeded to his gravesite, where each person laid a white rose in tribute. His youngest son, Alejandro, then delivered an emotional speech, saying, “My father faced life with unwavering courage, teaching us that no obstacle, no matter how insurmountable it may seem, can stand in the way of achieving a dream, no matter how distant it appears.”

He went on: “Throughout this past year without him, what has brought me the most comfort is seeing so much of him in my brother Akram. Akram, you have embodied our father’s spirit in a way that reminds us, every day, of the extraordinary man he was. In just one year, you have endured the loss of a father and then both of our grandfathers, yet you have carried on his legacy with strength and dignity, staying true to his values: resilience, humility, kindness, and optimism—just as he always did.”

Alejandro also praised to his mother, Clara, for her unwavering strength and love: “Mom, you have been the glue that held us together, protecting and supporting our family through it all, never allowing hardship or grief to weaken your resolve or your love.”

Thus, the memory of Iskandar Safa lives on, through those who loved him and who, day after day, continue to honor his legacy.
