The exhibition “Du cœur à la main : Dolce & Gabbana” occupies the Grand Palais until March 31. The event features hundreds of unique works by the designers in a luxurious setting.

Here's what you need to know about this first exhibition in Paris.

Paris, the second phase of this global event

Until March 31, the Grand Palais presents the exhibition “Du cœur à la main: Dolce & Gabbana”. Following a triumphant launch in Milan last year, Paris is the second city to host the world tour of this event, which delves into the creative process of the designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana through the exhibition of unique pieces.

Over 200 gowns and 300 handcrafted objects

A major event awaits the public. For the first time, the exhibition features over 200 dresses from the luxury fashion house, highlighting the two designers' diverse inspirations, drawn from Italian culture. Over 300 handcrafted objects will also be on display, in settings specially created for the exhibition.

Ten animated spaces

Ten rooms designed for an immersive experience over an area of 1,200 m² will present the works of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, while highlighting their various sources of inspiration, ranging from Italian painting to ancient divinities, not forgetting local folklore, architecture, cinema and opera. In these lively spaces, creations and settings will be reflected as if in a mirror, depending on the theme, through antique-style columns or mural strips.

In-house workshops

The workshop plays an essential role in the creative process. Although Dolce & Gabbana's workshops are in Milan, some have been transported to Paris and are featured in this exhibition, which highlights a selection of dresses in the creation phase.

A dress that celebrates Milan

Although all the house's pieces are made in Milanese workshops, the latest dress on show pays homage to the city. This creation, in gold macramé lace adorned with gold filigree jewels, was particularly inspired by the golden statue of the Madonnina, the city's protective symbol, which represents the Virgin Mary and stands atop Milan Cathedral at an altitude of over 100 meters. In fact, this dress occupies a central place on the event poster.
