There are times when we feel like we look unwell. Fatigue, lack of sunlight, and pollution can dull the complexion. While some behaviors should be prioritized, such as getting regular fresh air, it's also important to watch your diet.
Here are the foods to avoid to maintain a healthy appearance.
Refined Sugar
All foods containing refined sugars promote sebum production. Therefore, avoid consuming them excessively. Dried fruits can replace chocolate cakes.
Red Meat
Red meat is known to be bad for the skin. Animal proteins are difficult to digest, which can impact the complexion and cause breakouts. Therefore, its consumption should be limited. On the other hand, it's recommended to consume fatty fish and poultry.
Alcohol
In addition to affecting the digestive system, alcohol causes dehydration of the epidermis. Moreover, alcoholic beverages contain a large amount of glucose, complicating cell maintenance.
Coffee
Consumed in small quantities, coffee isn't bad for the skin. However, the problem is that it's often difficult to stop at just one cup. Consuming three coffees a day risks dehydrating the epidermis and making it more vulnerable to complications. It is better to consume green tea (without caffeine).
Salt
Salt promotes cell renewal. However, a diet too high in salt will have the opposite effect, drying out the skin and giving a dull appearance.
